1. Select a Baseline

 

Each team selects one or more “benchmark” stories that represent known levels of effort:

• 1 Point: Very small change, such as updating text or a configuration setting.
• 3 Points: Simple story with minimal complexity.
• 5 Points: Moderate story involving multiple components or testing scenarios.
• 8 Points: Complex story with several unknowns, dependencies, or systems.
• 13 Points: Very complex story that needs to be split into smaller stories.
